January has been a slow month with colds and headaches amongst the team. But still, we have some shiny new stuff to show you. Brand new artwork, animations and sound effects.

The Tavern makeover

The next stop in our scene update tour is the tavern. Just like we did with the village, we moved everything a bit to towards the top to make space for the inventory in the bottom of the screen. We also added a layer of super close objects. But the main thing that we think added the most charm is the lots and lots of folk art pieces. Every single piece of decor in here is an homage to certain widely recognised Hungarian styles of painting, pottery or embroidery. If you would pop in to any folk museum, old peasant's house or just visit someone's grandma in the countryside you would definitely find a similar collection.

Here's the before and after...

Master's wife

Not 100% complete yet, as there are some tiny things that we still need to polish, but almost there. We are quite happy to present this little animation as this is something that is completely new and not an upgrade of an existing animation.

Behold: the Master's wife, crying. In glorious 60 FPS.

Sound effects

We have also completed our main menu with some kooky sound effects. Check out this gem for example.

On the next...

Our next job is to put in the finishing touches for those animations mentioned above and put the brand new tavern assets to action. Then, on to some more exciting animations.

See you in a few weeks with our next progress report!
